Why WFA exists
Recognition should

Football is experienced from many places: the pitch, the stands, the screen and the conversation after the final whistle. WFA makes room for those perspectives in how achievement is recognized.
WFA brings those perspectives into a shared conversation about contribution. Goals matter, but so do the save, the run, the tactical adjustment and the collective performance that made the result possible.
Our focus includes men’s and women’s football, established names and emerging players, club and international competition. Contemporary football is at the center of the awards. The history of the game gives our year-round coverage its depth.

Who operates WFA?
World Football Award is owned and operated by SGN Soccer, which created and developed the platform. WFA serves an international football audience.
What guides the awards?
Clear category criteria, contextual performance research, equal voting weight and a reviewed public result. The methodology explains how these responsibilities fit together.
Is World Football Award affiliated with FIFA?
No. WFA is independent of FIFA and other governing bodies, federations, leagues and clubs. Coverage of a player or competition does not imply endorsement.
How is the editorial work handled?
The Game is published under WFA’s editorial responsibility. Sources support factual claims, corrections have a clear route, and commercial support does not determine editorial conclusions. Read the editorial policy.

Can fans vote now?
The ballot is not open yet. Voting runs December 1, 2026–April 30, 2027. The current signup is for announcements and updates.
What is planned for Las Vegas?
