Operator and Data Controller

SGN Soccer owns and operates this site and is the data controller for personal information collected through it.

Community registration is available through the site. The ballot provisions below apply when award voting opens.

Information We Collect

The community-update form requires an email address and consent. Country or region and a favorite club or national team are optional. The ballot collects the selected track, category, shortlisted candidate or team selection, email address, region, consent, verification state, integrity state, and submission time. The ballot does not request a written justification or supporting link. We do not intentionally collect payment information, precise location, or government identification through these forms.

How We Use Information

We use registration information to send category updates, the published verdict report, and related operational notices. We use ballot information to confirm a specific selection, enforce one verified vote per track and category for each email address, assess submission integrity, calculate reviewed results, and report aggregate regional participation. Unverified or integrity-flagged ballots are excluded from the result record. Optional community-update information may be used in aggregate to understand the audience.

Storage, Service Providers, and Disclosure

Registration and ballot records are kept in private site storage available only to authorized site operators. Candidate names may appear in shortlist and result coverage, but voter email addresses and individual regions are not published. Cloudflare Turnstile is used to assess automated activity, and Resend is used to deliver confirmation and operational email. Short-lived rate-limit records use cryptographic IP hashes rather than raw IP addresses. We do not sell registration, nomination, or ballot information. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the site, its users, or our rights.

Analytics and Privacy Choices

We maintain aggregate daily counts of successful public page requests to understand site use. These counts store only the date, public page path, and total, with no tracking cookies, visitor identifiers, IP addresses, user-agent records, query strings, or individual browsing histories. Known automated requests are excluded where detectable. Aggregate counts are retained for 90 days.

This site also uses the Google Analytics 4 tag in Consent Mode. Analytics storage is denied by default. Google Analytics page-view measurement begins only after you choose “Allow” in the optional analytics notice. Page addresses sent to Google exclude query strings and fragments. We do not send voter email addresses, candidate selections, ballot contents, optional community-update details, or advertising-personalization signals to Google Analytics.

Your analytics choice is stored in your browser so the site can remember it. You may review or change that choice at any time through the “Privacy choices” control in the footer. Declining analytics does not limit voting, registration, or access to site content.

Retention and Your Choices

We retain registration and ballot information while the awards program remains active and afterward as reasonably needed for verification, integrity, reporting, and legal purposes. You may request access, correction, deletion, or removal from communications by emailing privacy@worldfootballaward.com. Marketing emails will include an available unsubscribe method when email delivery begins.

Security

We use managed human verification, server-side validation, short-lived rate limits, email confirmation, access controls, moderation, and operational monitoring intended to protect submissions and platform integrity. No online system can guarantee complete security.

Children

This registration form is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through it. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information may contact us for deletion.

Public Ballots

A combined confirmation link is scoped to the exact submitted choices across the selected tracks and categories, expires after 24 hours, and is replaced by a newer combined submission. Pending choices are stored separately from confirmed votes. After confirmation or use of a secure return link, a necessary, secure, HTTP-only cookie keeps access to confirmed choices available on that device for seven days. Signing out removes that cookie. This functional cookie is separate from optional analytics.

Unsubmitted draft selections are stored only in this browser so you can switch categories or return to the page. This device-local draft does not contain your email address and is not a verified vote. It is cleared after successful submission or sign-out. Analytics does not receive ballot contents or voter identity. Confirmation pages do not load analytics.
