Both tracks use the same category structure. The criteria reflect each competition and the contribution being recognized.

Scope: a senior player’s contribution within the assessment period, across club and international appearances. Every playing position is eligible.

Scope: a player making a substantial senior breakthrough during the cycle. Assessment considers progression from the player’s previous role, rather than fame alone.

Scope: a senior club or national team, considered through collective performance within the same assessment period.
Eligibility & assessmentThe leadership, decisions and adaptability that change a team’s performance.
Scope: the work of a senior club or national-team head coach within the assessment period, including the context of the team’s resources and demands.
Eligibility & assessmentThe contest that brings football’s quality, tension and emotion together.
Scope: one eligible senior match. The case considers quality, competitive stakes and the football itself, rather than audience size alone.
Eligibility & assessmentThe goal, save or turning point that stays with the game.
Scope: one identifiable action or turning point in eligible football, supported by a clear match or event record.
Eligibility & assessmentSupporters whose creativity, commitment and shared culture give the game its life.
Scope: an identifiable supporter community linked to a club or national team. Creativity, commitment and constructive contribution provide the case.
Eligibility & assessmentA team chosen by fans, recognizing contribution in every position.
Scope: a positional team selected from the reviewed player field in each track. The formation is 4–3–3, with one position assigned to each player.

The inaugural edition combines a fixed candidate field with an assessment period that continues during voting. The vote comes first; Las Vegas follows in July.
October–November 2026
SGN Soccer organizes sourced research. AI assists; an accountable human approves candidate selections and descriptions against published eligibility criteria.
November 30, 2026
The reviewed field is fixed before voting. No new candidates are added after this date, even as performance assessment continues.
December 1, 2026–April 30, 2027
Voting opens December 1 and closes April 30. Use one email across categories and both tracks; confirm selections and revise them before the deadline. The ballot is currently closed.
June 1, 2026–March 31, 2027
Only performances within this period are assessed. April gives voters time to consider the completed period; April performances and the season’s final run-in are excluded. This is not an assessment of the complete 2026–27 season.
May 2027
Valid totals and exclusions are reviewed. Ordinary-category exact ties produce joint winners. The People’s XI positional tie procedure will be published before voting opens.
May 15, 2027 · target
The target follows verification and review. Unresolved material issues must be resolved before sign-off, even if that delays the result beyond May 15.
May–July 2027
Coordination and event preparation follow the reviewed outcome. Attendance and commercial arrangements do not determine awards.
